    How it works

    1. Add a PDF

Select one PDF from your device.

    2. Choose ranges

Enter ranges like 1-3, 4-8 or split every page.

    3. Download ZIP

Multiple results are packaged as a ZIP file.

    Choose the right split mode

Custom ranges is best when you know the sections you need. Enter 1-3, 4-8 to create one PDF containing pages 1 through 3 and another containing pages 4 through 8. Use a single range such as 5-12 when you only need one chapter or attachment.

Every page creates a separate one-page PDF for each page. Every N pages makes equal-sized groups, which is useful for separating batches of statements, forms, tickets, or scanned records.

What happens to the original file?

The original PDF is never changed. PDF Plain reads it in your browser and builds new output files from the page ranges you choose. When the split produces multiple files, they are packaged into a ZIP so your browser can download them together.

    • Page numbers start at 1, matching the order shown by most PDF readers.
    • Overlapping ranges intentionally duplicate pages in more than one output.
    • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before their pages can be copied.
    • Large files may need more browser memory, especially on mobile devices.

    FAQ

Can I split into single pages?

Yes. Choose the every page mode.

    Can I extract one section?

Yes. Enter one range such as 5-12.

    Are files uploaded?

No. Processing happens in your browser only.

    What format do I download?

Multiple files are downloaded as a ZIP archive. A single result can be downloaded as a PDF.

Can the same page appear in two outputs?

Yes. Use overlapping custom ranges when a cover page or instruction page must appear in more than one result.

Why does my page range fail?

Make sure every page number exists in the document and use commas between ranges. For example: 1-3, 7, 10-12.

    Does splitting reduce quality?

No image recompression is intended. The selected pages are copied into new PDF files.
